Funny Girl

(1968)Directed by William Wyler155 min · GComedy, Drama, Romance
“People who see FUNNY GIRL are the luckiest people in the world!”

Nobody in the Lower East Side's Jewish slums can say why Fanny Brice (Barbra Streisand), with her odd face and her loud voice, keeps getting the laughs, but Florenz Ziegfeld (Walter Pidgeon) takes her into the Follies anyway. Then she meets Nick Arnstein (Omar Sharif), a gambler with easy manners and a steady hand at the card table. Fanny rises to the top of 1930s stage comedy, and she keeps hold of Nick as hard as she holds the audience.
