Tulsa McLean (Elvis Presley) is a soldier stationed in West Germany, saving toward the nightclub he wants to open once he's discharged. He's short on money, so he takes a bet that a buddy can win over Lili (Juliet Prowse), a local dancer with a reputation for freezing out every man who tries. Norman Taurog sets Tulsa and Lili against each other, and the wager they never discuss hangs over every scene they share.
