Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life

Lucien Ginsburg grows up in 1940s Nazi-occupied Paris, a boy who wants to paint and slowly turns into the songwriter Serge Gainsbourg (Éric Elmosnino). Joann Sfar follows him into the 1960s and the women who pass through his life, among them Brigitte Bardot (Laetitia Casta) and Jane Birkin (Lucy Gordon). Serge keeps writing and keeps seducing, and the man who wanted to be a painter spends his life paying for the choice.
