Gandahar

“‘In a thousand years, Gandahar was destroyed, and all its people massacred. A thousand years ago, Gandahar will be saved, and what can’t be avoided will be.””

On the planet Gandahar, where peace reigns and poverty is unknown, word comes from the outlying frontiers that people are being turned to stone. Sylvain Lanvère (Pierre-Marie Escourrou) is sent to find out why, and René Laloux fills his journey with painted creatures and strange landscapes. Along the way Sylvain's path crosses Airelle (Catherine Chevallier), and what he feels for her gets harder to separate from the mission.
