Gandhi

“His triumph changed the world forever.”

In the early years of the twentieth century, Mohandas Gandhi (Ben Kingsley) is a British-trained lawyer who gives up his possessions to take up the cause of Indian independence. The British answer with armed resistance, and he answers with passive resistance, refusing to win his people's freedom through bloodshed. Richard Attenborough follows his life from a train compartment in Natal in 1893 to his funeral in 1948.
