Gangster No. 1

“There can only be ONE!”

The Younger Gangster (Paul Bettany) is a young punk who wants a place in the gang run by Freddie Mays (David Thewlis), and wants even more to be the man Freddie is. Decades later, the older Gangster 55 (Malcolm McDowell) gets word that Freddie is coming out of jail after thirty years, and his mood turns. Paul McGuigan tells it from inside the old man's memory, where the envy that drove him up through the ranks is the story's real subject.
