Gauguin: Voyage to Tahiti
“The journey begins.”
Paul Gauguin (Vincent Cassel) is a French painter who, in 1891, is broke and tired of Paris, so he sails for Tahiti to paint as a free man. Édouard Deluc follows him into the island's heat, where sickness and loneliness come with the wild beauty, and Tehura (Tuheï Adams), a young Tahitian woman, becomes his wife and model. The film is about what a man will give up to make paintings that are entirely his own.
