Genova
Joe (Colin Firth) takes his two daughters to Genoa, a crowded old port city in Italy, after their mother dies in a car accident. His youngest, Mary (Perla Haney-Jardine), begins seeing her mother's ghost in the streets, while her older sister starts to find her own way into adulthood. Michael Winterbottom shot the film in the city itself during the summer of 2007, and it won him the best director's award at San Sebastián.
