“The Two M-M-Marvels Of Our Age In The Wonder Musical Of The World!”

Lorelei Lee (Marilyn Monroe), a showgirl engaged to the wealthy Gus Esmond Jr. (Tommy Noonan), boards an ocean liner with her best friend Dorothy Shaw (Jane Russell). Gus's father suspects she wants only the money, so he hires the detective Ernie Malone (Elliott Reid) to follow her across the Atlantic. Hawks fills the voyage with song numbers, and the question underneath is plain: what a woman will trade for security, and what a friend will do for her.
