“Just because you're invited, doesn't mean you're welcome.”

Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) is a Black photographer meeting his white girlfriend Rose's family for the first time at their secluded estate. Rose's parents, Dean (Bradley Whitford) and Missy (Catherine Keener), are welcoming but strange. Chris begins to notice small wrongnesses, then larger ones, each discovery tightening the trap around him until he understands what the family wants from him is not acceptance but erasure.
