KAOS strikes the spy agency Control, and the identities of its field agents are suddenly exposed. The Chief (Alan Arkin) has no one left to send but Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell), an eager analyst who has spent his career behind a desk. He is paired with Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), the one operative whose cover still holds. Peter Segal stages the chases and fights at a full sprint, and the jokes arrive just as fast.
