“Donald Beeman was a top executive with a $9,000 sports car, a penthouse, and a terrific blonde...Then he found happiness.”

Donald Beeman (Tom Smothers) is a young businessman who walks out on his job to learn magic from Mr. Turnbull (John Astin), a magic expert with a talent for tap dancing. Along the way Donald picks up the hard edge and the skill he lacked, and he turns into a very good tap dancer himself. He still has to answer to his old boss, and Brian De Palma stages the whole thing as a loose, theatrical comedy.
