Section 9 is back on the trail of the Laughing Man, a hacker who tore through the top medical nanotechnology firms six years ago with kidnappings, espionage and cyber-terrorism, and left no suspect behind. Kenji Kamiyama builds the case from fresh leads and old files, with Major Motoko Kusanagi (Atsuko Tanaka) and Togusa (Koichi Yamadera) working it from different angles. The squad has to trust each other's findings.
