Gaston Lachaille (Louis Jourdan), the richest and most bored bachelor in Paris, offers young Gigi (Leslie Caron) a home, a motorcar, servants and the latest fashions. Vincente Minnelli films her coming-of-age in Cecil Beaton's costumes and Alan Jay Lerner's songs, with Maurice Chevalier and Hermione Gingold looking on. Gigi wants the one thing money can't buy, and Gaston, who has always had what he asked for, finds himself unable to leave her alone.
