Gilda

(1946)Directed by Charles Vidor110 minRomance, Drama, Thriller
“There NEVER was a woman like Gilda!”

Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford), a gambler stranded in Argentina, takes a job running the casino of the wealthy Ballin Mundson (George Macready), only to learn that Mundson's new wife is Gilda (Rita Hayworth), a woman he once knew. Charles Vidor builds the film around the three of them and the detective, Obregon (Joseph Calleia), who watches from the edges. Hayworth stands in the club in a black satin dress, her hair falling past her bare shoulders.
