At a prestigious ballet school in Belgium, fifteen-year-old Lara (Victor Polster) trains for hours each day, her feet bruised and bound in pointe shoes. She is also waiting on hormone treatment under Dr. Naert (Katelijne Damen), and her body is not changing as fast as she wants. Lukas Dhont keeps the focus on Lara and her father Mathias (Arieh Worthalter), who loves her and does not always know how to say it.
