“The Big Musical with Broadway Flair and a Western Air!”

A pair of legs sticking out from under a stalled roadster is the first thing Danny Churchill, Jr. (Mickey Rooney) sees of the all-male Western college his father has sent him to. They belong to Ginger Gray (Judy Garland), the Dean's granddaughter, who has no time for his romantic line. Norman Taurog sets Danny against a girl whose only concern is keeping a broke school open, and the Gershwin songs carry what they can't say.
