Girl in Progress
“A tale of acting up, acting out, and acting your age.”
Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) has noticed that every girl in the novels assigned at school goes through a painful ordeal before she grows up, and she decides to speed up her own turn. Her mother, Grace (Eva Mendes), is too busy with work, bills and a married doctor, Dr. Harford (Matthew Modine), to see the plan taking shape. Patricia Riggen plays it as a comedy first, so the bittersweet part arrives slowly.
