Sara (Stefanie Scott) is counting down to her 18th birthday, the day she can finally leave the house and her controlling father, Don (Judd Nelson). Elisabeth Röhm's TV movie begins with the candles on the cake and takes the other way out of that celebration, with Don locking her in the basement. From there it stays with Sara, a teenager with a single plan for the day she turns eighteen and no way left to reach it.
