A man named Jofre Godói (Reginaldo Faria) has an ordinary chat with a stranger at an airport, and soon afterward that stranger is dead. Jofre is a middle-class man with no politics, but the dictatorship's political police decide he knew the dead activist and take him in as a subversive. Roberto Farias sets it in the 1970 World Cup season, with the match crowds cheering in the streets while the arrests go on.
