God Told Me To

“The people of this city are being terrorized. The crimes have no motives. The killers have only one explanation...”

In 1970s New York, a sniper opens fire from a water tower, and a string of ordinary people start killing strangers and relatives. Detective Peter Nicholas (Tony Lo Bianco), a devout Catholic, hears the same answer from every killer: God told me to. Larry Cohen shot it on the city's own streets, and Peter's marriage to Martha (Sandy Dennis) frays as the case drags him toward questions about his own birth.
