God's Comedy

In an ice-cream parlor, João de Deus (João César Monteiro) presides over the counter and the women who work it, including Clara (Sylvie Rocha), Mimi (Dalila Carmo) and Virgínia (Anabela Teixeira). Monteiro wrote and directed the film and also plays João, the second entry in his informal trilogy after Recollections of the Yellow House. What the man wants from the women around him is the whole subject, stated without apology.
