God's Pocket

“The only thing they can't forgive is not being from ... God's Pocket”

Mickey Scarpato (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is a small-time hustler in a poor South Philadelphia neighborhood who drinks too much. When his stepson dies under suspicious circumstances, Mickey tries to bury the truth, while his wife Jeannie (Christina Hendricks) wants answers and a newspaper columnist (Richard Jenkins) starts asking questions. John Slattery, directing for the first time, sets the whole thing in a place where a lie only holds if everyone keeps quiet.
