Gold

“Everything they touch turns to pure excitement!”

Rod Slater (Roger Moore) has just been made general manager of the Sonderditch gold mine in South Africa when his boss, Manfred Steyner (Bradford Dillman), orders him to drill through an underground dike toward a rich seam. Slater begins to suspect the order hides a scheme, and he falls for Steyner's wife Terry (Susannah York). Peter R. Hunt keeps the camera down in the tunnels, where the dark shafts and the ore cars press in tight.
