A Soviet weapons facility explodes during a covert raid, and British agent James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) is left for dead. Years later, a mysterious attack using a satellite weapon called GoldenEye forces Bond out of retirement to hunt down whoever now holds it. As he chases the trail across the globe, he discovers the weapon's origins may be tied to his own past.
