“For the Duncan family, Christmas is about to take a major detour.”

It's Christmas, and the Duncans of Denver are driving to Palm Springs to spend the holiday with Amy's parents, the Blankenhoopers. Arlene Sanford follows Teddy (Bridgit Mendler), Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) and Bob (Eric Allan Kramer) as they go stranded between Denver and Utah and hitch a ride with an older couple from Roswell who believe they were abducted by aliens. With a clunker Yugo as their only transport, the family has to reach Palm Springs by Christmas.
