“The wrong man. In the wrong place. At the right time.”
Adrian Cronauer (Robin Williams), a charismatic Armed Forces Radio DJ, arrives in Saigon in 1965 hungry to break through the military's bland broadcasts and reach the troops with real talk and laughter. His riffing and refusal to read approved scripts enrage his commanding officers, but the soldiers worship him. What Cronauer learns is that irreverence in wartime is a luxury, and some rifts can't be bridged by charm alone.
