“Slam! Bam! Here comes Sam!...Caught in the Middle of a Two-Woman Jam!”

Sam Bissel (Jack Lemmon) wants to keep the promotion he just landed at his advertising firm, a job that depends on looking like a wholesome family man. Then his wife's divorced best friend, Janet Lagerlof (Romy Schneider), needs someone to pose as her husband so she can collect a large inheritance, and Sam is talked into the part.
