Goodbye South, Goodbye

“Fast times, easy money, big trouble.”

Kao (Jack Kao) drives around Taiwan with his sidekick Flatty (Lim Giong) and their girlfriends, always starting up another petty scheme that promises quick money. Hou Hsiao-hsien follows the circle through the ordinary hours between jobs, the rides, the meals, the talk. Kao is the one who keeps proposing the next plan, and he never seems to ask where the last one went.
