“Like nothing you've ever seen before!”

Joe Ryan (Bill Travers) and Sam Slade (William Sylvester) run a salvage boat off the Irish coast and want a payday big enough to matter. When an undersea eruption churns up the sea bed, they find a gigantic prehistoric creature, alive and thrashing, and they haul it to London to put it on show. Eugène Lourié stages the monster with miniature sets and a man in a suit, and he keeps the camera low and close.
