Gran Casino

Gerardo Ramírez (Jorge Negrete) is an oil-well worker who ends up running the whole business after the owner vanishes without a trace. Mercedes Irigoyen (Libertad Lamarque) comes from Argentina to look for her missing brother, sure that Gerardo killed him for the wells, and takes a job singing at the casino where he was last seen. Luis Buñuel sets this suspicion to song, in a story about how easily grief and a need for someone to blame can pass for certainty.
