The plant takes on anyone who will sign for the risk, and Gary (Tahar Rahim), unemployed and with nothing else on offer, signs. Rebecca Zlotowski sets his work among crews who clean the reactor in the French countryside, and his eyes keep landing on Karole (Léa Seydoux), the fiancée of Toni (Denis Ménochet), a senior workmate. Gary begins an affair with her anyway, and he has to hide it every day from men who stand beside him in the same exposed place.
