Ahreum (Kim Min-hee) sits in a small café with her laptop, typing, while the people at the surrounding tables carry on their private dramas. It is never clear whether she is writing down what she overhears or whether the talk around her follows what she has already typed. Hong Sang-soo keeps her at the same table and in the same quiet, and Ahreum listens and types, giving away almost nothing of her own.
