“Where there’s a will, there’s a relative.”

Uncle Joe (Kirk Douglas), an elderly scrap metal tycoon in a wheelchair, is very much alive, yet his relatives have already turned up to stake a claim in his will. Jonathan Lynn gathers the McTeague family around him, each one smiling and angling for the money. Daniel (Michael J. Fox), the grand-nephew who gets pulled into the scramble, has Robin (Nancy Travis) beside him, and she is the one person in the house he can trust.
