“Inspired by a True Friendship.”

Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), a two-fisted bouncer from the Bronx, needs work and takes a job driving Dr. Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a virtuoso pianist, through the segregated South in 1962. The two men could not be more different: one is all elbows and appetite, the other composed and exacting. By the end of the journey, Tony has learned to see past the color of a man's skin, and Don has found a friend.
