Green for Danger

(1946)Directed by Sidney Gilliat91 minMystery, Crime, Thriller
“Murder... weapon or clue?”

A postman dies on the operating table at a rural hospital while Nazi air raids go on overhead, and the death may not have been an accident. Inspector Cockrill (Alastair Sim) turns up to question the surgeon Mr. Eden (Leo Genn), Dr. Barnes (Trevor Howard), and the nurses who were in the room, among them Freddi Linley (Sally Gray). Sidney Gilliat shot it at Pinewood Studios and builds it around the colour-coded gas cylinders of the title.
