“It's the end of the world as we know it.”

John Garrity (Gerard Butler) learns that a comet will obliterate Earth in days, and his family has a chance at a bunker in Greenland. With his ex-wife Allison (Morena Baccarin) and their son Nathan (Roger Dale Floyd), he drives toward the coast as the sky fills with debris and society fractures. Ric Roman Waugh builds the film from one immediate crisis to the next, the camera moving restlessly as roads collapse and strangers turn hostile.
