“An Overground Protest Film!”

In 1968 New York, Paul Shaw (Jonathan Warden) is already hunting for a way to keep his friend Jon Rubin (Robert De Niro) out of Vietnam before the draft board sends its notice. Brian De Palma lets the three friends talk their way through the plan, then through computer dating, the Kennedy assassination and whatever woman walks past. Rubin sits with a camera and a girl in the next room, watching her through the frame.
