“The True Story of a Dog”

A small Skye terrier named Bobby wants only one thing in Edinburgh in 1865, which is to stay beside his master, the old shepherd James Brown (Donald Crisp), even after the man dies of pneumonia. Bobby won't be adopted and sleeps on the grave in Greyfriars kirkyard, where the caretaker, Mr. Traill (Laurence Naismith), keeps a rule against dogs. Don Chaffey, the director, keeps the story at the dog's level and lets the town come to him.
