Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes

A shipwreck leaves an English couple stranded in the African jungle, where the wife gives birth in a tree house just before a troop of apes kills them both. A female ape takes the baby as her own, and twenty years later Captain Phillippe D'Arnot (Ian Holm) finds a grown man who believes he is one of them. Hugh Hudson sends John Clayton (Christopher Lambert) toward England, where the family has everything to lose if the heir can't be taught to belong.
