“Feed the frenzy.”

Asha Chaudhry (Sara Wolfkind) wants her family to see the internet meme sweeping her suburb for what it is, a story other people keep feeding. Then her parents, Leah (Shannyn Sossamon) and Amir (Usman Ally), begin to believe in it, and John Ross follows the panic from one household to the next. As their fear spreads, Asha and her little brother Kamran (Callan Farris) have to stop a monster the adults are helping to create.
