Grumpier Old Men

Max Goldman (Walter Matthau) wants one thing out of the winter, and that is for his next-door neighbor and fishing buddy John Gustafson (Jack Lemmon) to stay on his side of the property line. A family wedding drags the old feud back up, and then Sophia (Sophia Loren), an Italian divorcée, opens a restaurant inside the local bait shop. Howard Deutch gives Max the most to lose, a stubborn man who has to decide whether a hot dinner is worth giving up an argument.
