Guide

“A classic Indian drama of love, sacrifice, downfall and redemption.”

Raju (Dev Anand), a freelance tour guide, takes on a new client when Rosie (Waheeda Rehman), the unhappy wife of a wealthy archaeologist, asks to learn the dancing her husband forbids. Vijay Anand follows Raju as he pushes her toward the stage and she becomes a celebrated performer. Rosie keeps the bells on her ankles, and Raju, her guide, stands in the wings.
