Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio

“Love will give you life.”

A wooden boy wakes up in a village under Mussolini's Italy, carved from a pine and brought to life by magic, with no idea what a son is supposed to be. Pinocchio (Gregory Mann) cannot sit still or obey, and Geppetto (David Bradley), the grieving carpenter who made him, expects both. Directors Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson build the film around that gap between father and son, each trying to love the other as he is.
