Gunga Din
“Barbaric Splendor - Gasping Magnitude - Adventure !”
In 1880s India, three British army sergeants, Cutter (Cary Grant), MacChesney (Victor McLaglen) and Ballantine (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.), patrol the frontier with their water-bearer, Gunga Din (Sam Jaffe). A telegraph repair job turns up traces of the Thuggee cult, and Din's talk of a golden temple sets Cutter off after it. George Stevens builds the story on the loud, brawling friendship of the three sergeants, with Din hovering at its edge, desperate to join them.
