“Magic is an illusion... and so is life...”

For over a decade, Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan), once a celebrated magician, has lived paralyzed in a house, cared for by his nurse Sophie D'souza (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). He now petitions the court for the right to end his own life, and the request sets off a public furor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali stages the case as ornate, richly colored drama, composing the music himself.
