Hacksaw Ridge

“One of the greatest heroes in American history never fired a bullet.”

Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield) is a Seventh-day Adventist who enlists in World War II but will not touch a rifle, which makes him a problem for Sgt Howell (Vince Vaughn) and Captain Glover (Sam Worthington). Mel Gibson follows him from basic training, where his fellow soldiers press him to quit, toward the Battle of Okinawa. He goes in carrying only a medic's bag.
