“Let the sunshine in!”

Claude Hooper Bukowski (John Savage) leaves his family's Oklahoma ranch with a draft notice in his pocket and heads for New York, a few days before he reports to boot camp. In Central Park he meets George Berger (Treat Williams), Sheila Franklin (Beverly D'Angelo) and a loose tribe of long-haired hippies who offer him marijuana and LSD. Miloš Forman puts the whole group in motion, singing and dancing across the park lawns.
