Hala

“Every journey begins where you come from.”

Hala Masood (Geraldine Viswanathan) is seventeen, the daughter of a Pakistani American family, and she is trying to meet every expectation her parents, her religion and her community place on her. She is also finding what she wants for herself, and a secret has started to press on the household. Minhal Baig follows her through the ordinary days of school and home, and Hala keeps carrying it, afraid of what it will do to the people she loves.
