“Secrets don't let go.”

In a junior-high classroom, Dan Dunne (Ryan Gosling) teaches his students history as a way of seeing how change happens. After school he has a secret life of addiction that none of them are supposed to know about. One of his students, Drey (Shareeka Epps), finds out, and Ryan Fleck keeps his camera close on the two of them as the bond between them forms.
